Trash Bags & Can Liners

Choose by Can Size

High Density or Low Density?

  • High density: thin, light and strong for its weight, at a low cost per bag. Best for paper, food waste and everyday trash without sharp edges. Sold in microns.
  • Linear low density: stretches instead of splitting, with better tear and puncture resistance for heavier, irregular trash. Sold in mil.
  • Low density (white): soft, flexible and opaque, with a child suffocation warning printed on the bag.

Coreless Rolls or Flat Packs?

Many of our high density liners come in both. Coreless rolls keep the case compact and are easy to carry on a cart. Flat packs lie flat in the case, ready to pull out. Choose whichever suits how your team changes liners.

How to Measure a Can for a Liner

  • Round can: liner width = can diameter x 3.14, divided by 2, plus 1". Liner length = can height + diameter + 5" for overhang. A 12" diameter, 30" tall can takes about a 20" x 47" liner.
  • Square can with a gusseted liner: add 1" to the can's width and depth. Liner length = can height + depth + 6" to cover the contents and tie the bag closed.

Common Questions

  • Are gallon sizes standard? Not exactly. Gallon labels are a guide, so check the liner's width and length against your can.
  • Mil or micron? Both measure thickness, and 1 mil is 25.4 microns. High density liners are usually sold in microns, low density liners in mil. Don't compare them by number alone, because the films behave differently.
  • What about heavier jobs? Use the Heavy Duty liners in each size, or drum liners for drums and heavy materials.
