8" x 16" 3 mil StratoGrey™ Static Shielding Bags

This 8" x 16" static shielding bag is an open-top ESD bag with a metal layer inside the film that keeps static discharge away from the part. It's a good fit for PCBs, drives and electronic modules going to a customer or a repair bench.

StratoGrey film has a metal layer buried between plastic layers, so the closed bag works as a Faraday cage around the part. It's not QPL certified, so it isn't for jobs that require MIL-PRF-81705 qualified bags.

Buried metal construction provides double protection against static discharge. Amine/amide-free interior will not corrode polycarbonate surfaces with no outgassing. The semi-transparent material allows for easy identification of contents. Because these bags are fully heat sealable the contents are effectively protected from moisture and foreign matter. The 3/8" side seal ensures packaging integrity during storage and handling. LK®'s focus on defect prevention versus defect detection builds quality into every bag.

Sizing: 8" wide x 16" long, outside dimensions, open on the 8" end. For a board, pick a width of at least its width plus its thickness, and leave room to fold or heat seal the top.

Close the bag: the shield protects the part when the bag is closed. Fold the top over and tape it, or heat seal it, before the part leaves the ESD-safe area.
