Poultry Bag Sizes by Bird
Sizes are width x gusset x length. The gusset unfolds so the bag takes the round shape of a whole bird.
- Small chicken: 4" x 2" x 12" and 5" x 3.5" x 13"
- Fryer: 6" x 3" x 12" and 6" x 3" x 15"
- Broiler: 6" x 4" x 12" and 6" x 4" x 15"
- Duck: 8" x 3" x 15"
- Large poultry: 10" x 4" x 24" and 12" x 8" x 20"
- Turkey & ham: 10" x 8" x 24"
- Large turkey: 12" x 8" x 24" and 12" x 8" x 30"
Between sizes, go up one: a bag that's too tight is hard to load and won't close cleanly. Use the filters above the table to show one bird size.
Thickness: LDPE vs TUF-R®
- LDPE, 1 to 2 mil: the standard poultry bag. 1 to 1.25 mil for fresh birds, 1.5 to 2 mil for frozen product, bone-in birds and hams.
- TUF-R® linear LDPE, 0.6 to 0.85 mil: stronger and more puncture resistant than LDPE of the same thickness, so a thinner TUF-R bag often does the job of a heavier LDPE bag for less.
Food Safe for Fresh & Frozen Poultry
Every bag is made from virgin resin that meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 and USDA requirements for direct food contact. Close them with a tie, clip or heat sealer. Seamless gusseted tubing has no side seals to split when the bag is loaded or frozen.

FAQ
Are these shrink bags? No. They're standard clear poly bags that close with a tie, clip or heat seal. They don't shrink to the bird.
Can I freeze poultry in them? Yes. For frozen birds choose 1.5 mil or heavier LDPE, or TUF-R®, for puncture resistance around bones and wing tips.
What size bag for a turkey? 10" x 8" x 24" for most turkeys and hams, 12" x 8" x 24" or 12" x 8" x 30" for large turkeys.
