Gusseted poly bags, also called side gusset bags, are clear plastic bags with folded sides that open up to hold boxes and bulky or irregular items a flat bag can't. Gusseted bags are listed as width x gusset x length. An 18" x 14" x 36" bag has an 18" face, side gussets that open 14" deep, and is 36" long, so when it's opened the mouth is 18" x 14". To bag a box, choose a bag whose width and gusset are at least the box's width and depth, and a length of at least the box's height plus half the gusset (the bottom squares off), plus a few inches to fold or tie closed.
Gusseted Poly Bags by Thickness
Thickness is measured in mils, thousandths of an inch. Thicker bags hold heavier loads and resist punctures; thinner bags cost less.
For pallet covers and gaylord and bin liners, our gusseted poly bags on a roll come perforated for fast dispensing in sizes up to 58" wide and 108" long, from 1 to 4 mil, and each lists the pallet load it fits.
